Diagnostics

Common RV Problems We Fix

RV Air Conditioner Not Cooling

Dirty evaporator coils, clogged filters, failing capacitors, damaged fan motors, thermostat problems and electrical faults can all stop an RV AC from cooling. Warm air, weak airflow, odd noises or water leaking around the rooftop unit are all signs to get it looked at before the strain causes a bigger repair.

RV Roof Leaks

Water enters through damaged sealants, seams, skylights, vents, antennas and aging roof material. Stains, soft spots, musty odors and bubbling panels are warning signs — and because water travels inside walls, the leak is rarely directly above the damage.

RV Refrigerator Not Working

RV refrigerators fail differently than residential units: cooling failures, propane ignition problems, control board faults, frost buildup and temperature swings. We service propane, electric and dual-power models.

RV Water Heater Issues

Ignition failures, heating elements, thermostat malfunctions, leaks and inconsistent temperatures show up often after seasonal storage. We repair gas, electric and tankless RV water heaters.

RV Electrical Problems

Dead outlets, flickering lights, tripped breakers, batteries that won't charge and blown fuses. We troubleshoot both 12-volt and 120-volt systems, converters, inverters and wiring throughout the RV.

RV Slide-Out Problems

Slide-outs that won't extend or retract, uneven movement, damaged seals, hydraulic leaks, motor failures and track alignment issues — all of which can lead to water intrusion if ignored.

RV Awning Damage

Torn fabric, bent arms, broken springs, motor failures and awnings that won't extend or retract. We repair both manual and powered awning systems.

Great service from this company. You can tell they really care about their customers. They gave me a very fair price and fast installation on a new air conditioner for my 5th wheel!

Alliance repair responded promptly to my emergency call for refrig not working. I diagnosis was disappointing but not surprising. It is good to have someone to call. Unfortunately replacing the compressor would cost as much as a new refrigerator.

Mobile RV repair, done right the first time

Alliance RV Repair is a mobile-first RV service company based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, serving travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pop-ups, Class A diesel pushers, Class B vans and Class C motorhomes across the Tulsa metro, the Oklahoma City metro and all of Payne County. Instead of asking you to tow a coach across the state and leave it at a dealership for weeks, we bring a stocked service van to your driveway, campground site, storage lot or roadside stop and diagnose the problem where the RV sits. Most repairs — rooftop air conditioners, absorption refrigerators, water heaters, furnaces, converters, slide-out motors and roof reseals — are completed on the first visit.

Every job starts with a real diagnosis rather than a parts swap. A refrigerator that will not cool might be a failed cooling unit, but far more often it is a low-voltage supply, a blocked flue, a bad thermistor or an unlevel coach starving the boiler. A roof leak showing up over the dinette is usually not above the dinette at all — water tracks along rafters from a failed vent flange or a shrunken sealant bead metres away. We chase the actual cause, explain what we found in plain language, quote before we work and put the old part in your hand when we are done.

What Oklahoma weather does to an RV

Oklahoma is hard on recreational vehicles. Summer roof temperatures on a stored coach regularly pass 150°F, which cooks self-levelling lap sealant, shrinks EPDM and TPO membranes and pushes rooftop air conditioners to run at full load for months. Spring brings hail that dents condenser fins and cracks vent lids and shrouds, plus straight-line winds that peel awnings off their arms. Winter swings from mild afternoons to hard freezes overnight, splitting PEX lines, cracking water-heater tanks and killing furnaces that sat unused since the last trip. A twice-yearly seal inspection and a pre-trip systems check catch nearly all of it before it turns into a five-figure floor rebuild.

Common questions from RV owners

Do you work on my brand of RV?

Yes. RV manufacturers assemble coaches from the same component suppliers, so a Dometic or Coleman air conditioner, a Suburban or Atwood water heater, a Norcold or Dometic refrigerator and a Lippert slide mechanism all behave the same whether the badge says Jayco, Forest River, Keystone, Grand Design, Thor, Winnebago, Coachmen or Heartland.

How fast can you get to me?

Most calls are scheduled within a few business days, and urgent no-cooling, no-heat or active-leak situations are prioritised. If you are travelling and stuck, call rather than email — we will tell you honestly whether it is a roadside fix or something that needs shop time.

Do you handle insurance and extended warranty claims?

We regularly document hail, wind and water damage for insurance adjusters with photos and written findings, and we work with most extended service contracts. Bring us the claim or policy number and we will handle the technical side.

Is mobile service more expensive than a dealership?

Usually the opposite. There is no transport cost, no weeks of storage, no queue behind warranty work, and you are not paying for a service-department front desk. You get a diagnosis and a quote up front, and the repair happens where the coach is parked.
